Friends of ACT

Friends of ACT (FACT) champion the work and success of the Ayiti Community Trust. This group includes former ACT board members, Dessalines Society members, Ven Pou Ven ambassadors, and community partners who are aligned with ACT’s mission and vision and demonstrate their commitment with annual giving. Friends of ACT are invited to advocate on behalf of ACT, to serve on ACT board committees, and lend their names to ACT’s promotional efforts. The variety of opportunities to become a Friend of ACT allows individuals and groups to participate in a long-term path of meaningful impact.

Dessalines Society

The exclusive Dessalines Society, which is committed to ACT’s long-term success, includes former members ACT's board and individuals who make a two-year annual giving commitment. Dessalines Society members believe in preserving Ayiti’s heritage and are instrumental in the success of ACT’s vision to build a permanent endowment to support Ayiti’s long-term development. The Dessalines Society honors Jean Jaques Dessalines, Ayiti’s first emperor, who, after the 1803 Battle of Vertières, declared that all persons on Ayiti’s soil would inherit life and liberty. Members at this level are true allies and they enjoy a special relationship with one another and with ACT leaders.

The Ven Pou Ven (20/20) Ambassadors are young professional Haitians and Friends of ACT dedicated to rewriting the narrative about Ayiti. Ven Pou Ven Ambassadors are the 20/20 lens of Ayiti’s future. Building on the collective wisdom of past trailblazers, ambassadors are responding to the charge of ensuring Ayiti’s next 200 years of sustainable development.
