Put Your Charitable Dollars to Work

IMG_8760

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving account that allows you to set aside funds for philanthropy and recommend grants to nonprofit organizations over time. If you already have a DAF, those charitable dollars are ready to be put to work.

Through your DAF, you can recommend a grant to Ayiti Community Trust and invest directly in Haitian-led solutions. Your grant can strengthen the organization behind the work, support programs creating opportunity across Haiti, or help build a permanent endowment for generations to come.

Already have a DAF? You can recommend a grant to ACT directly through the tool below. Not sure how DAF giving works or whether it's right for you?

Invest in Ayiti's Future

Choose how you want your DAF investment to make an impact.

Support the Organization

Invest in the Organization Behind the Impact

Se mèt kò ki veye kò.

Strong organizations make lasting impact possible.

Your DAF grant can provide ACT with the flexible resources needed to invest in our people, strengthen our infrastructure, and respond where resources are needed most.

Your investment can support:

Our greatest need: the People Behind the Impact

Strong programs require a strong organization behind them. ACT's team of 9 staff members across Ayiti and the United States manages the day-to-day work that makes our investments possible—from financial oversight and donor stewardship to partner support, compliance, monitoring, and reporting.

Operating in Ayiti also requires significant administrative capacity to ensure funds are responsibly managed, partners are supported, and ACT maintains the transparency and accountability our donors and communities expect. Yet these essential costs are often the hardest to fund through traditional grants.

Your DAF investment in General Operations helps fill that gap, supporting our people, our infrastructure, and ACT's greatest needs.

Support the Programs

Invest in Haitian-Led Solutions

Men anpil, chay pa lou.

Support ACT's work investing in Haitian-led organizations and initiatives that strengthen communities and expand opportunity.

Your DAF grant can support:

Civic Education | Environmental Stewardship | Entrepreneurship

Your investment can also strengthen the capacity, monitoring, evaluation, and learning that help our partners and programs achieve lasting impact.

Through our three program pillars—Civic Education, Environmental Stewardship, and Entrepreneurship—ACT invests in locally led solutions designed around the priorities and realities of Haitian communities.

Your support provides more than program funding. It helps provide the capital, capacity building, monitoring, evaluation, and long-term support Haitian-led organizations need to grow stronger, demonstrate impact, and build sustainable solutions.

Invest where the need is greatest, or explore opportunities within a specific program area.

Suggested Grant Purpose: Describe the charitable purpose for which this grant is being recommended

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving account established with a sponsoring 501(c)(3) organization. DAFs are commonly held through the charitable arms of investment firms—such as Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, or Vanguard Charitable—or through community foundations, like ACT, and other charitable institutions.

You contribute cash, stock, or other eligible assets to your DAF and generally receive the associated charitable tax benefit at the time of that contribution. Those assets then belong to the sponsoring charity and may be invested and grow tax-free for charitable purposes. You retain advisory privileges, meaning you can recommend which eligible nonprofits receive grants from the fund and, depending on the sponsor, how the assets are invested.

If you already have a DAF, you may have charitable dollars available to put to work today by recommending a grant to Ayiti Community Trust. Check with your financial advisor or use the DAF giving tool below to get started.
